A Quinnipiac University poll exposes widespread voter disapproval of former President Donald Trump’s immigration management, with low approval of deportation tactics and strong opposition to deporting undocumented immigrants to countries other than their own.

A recent Quinnipiac University poll conducted July 10-14, 2025, reveals a significant drop in support for former President Donald Trump’s immigration policies. Only 38% of voters approve of how Trump handled deportations, while a pronounced 64% oppose deporting undocumented immigrants to countries other than their countries of origin.

These figures illuminate broad dissatisfaction with Trump’s approach, which has been criticized for its militarized tactics and inhumane treatment of migrant communities.

The poll also highlights that 57% of voters disapprove of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), now the largest law enforcement agency in the U.S. following budget expansions under Trump’s administration.

ICE’s aggressive raids, particularly against Latino workers and marginalized migrant communities, have deepened divisions and fueled widespread condemnation both inside and outside the United States. Among Hispanic voters, approval for Trump’s immigration policies plummets to a mere 21%, reflecting the profound alienation caused by these harsh measures.

In stark contrast, a concurrent Gallup poll finds that 79% of Americans view immigration positively,a historic high,and 78% support pathways to citizenship for undocumented immigrants, marking a significant shift toward more inclusive migration policies.
